We always say that we need to be educated when adding supplements (including daily vitamins) to our daily routines. This means researching recommended values and daily limits and ensuring that the vitamin you select matches these. In addition, we also need to consider our personal diets. If we are always eating the same foods, we might have higher levels of certain nutrients. With the addition of a daily vitamin, your levels could now be approaching a dangerous value. This is especially true for fat-soluble vitamins.

Vitamins are even more vital during pregnancy, especially the early stages; however, they require specific dosing. Therefore, it’s not appropriate to continue taking a regular daily vitamin when pregnant unless otherwise directed by your obstetrician.
